Trying something a bit new this week by limiting the number and scope of included sources to see if we can get our NotebookLM hosts to go deeper into each source and see if it makes it easier for them to find connections / draw insights between them.
This week’s prompt is as follows:
Generate an engaging conversation about the four sources included in this update. The output should be suitable for a general audience of executives interested in AI. Its purpose is to serve as an audio learning tool summarizing articles, papers, and interviews that Sam Weston thinks may be worth exploring further. Please cover the findings in each source, highlighting the elements that are most interesting. Recap the major themes and see if you can draw any additional insights or connections.
Sources included:
80,000 Hours: Allan Dafoe on why technology is unstoppable & how to shape AI development anyway
Anton Leicht: AI Policy & Labor Politics
Dwarkesh: Jeff Dean & Noam Shazeer - 25 Years at Google: From PageRank to AGI
Various: Utility Engineering: Analyzing and Controlling Emergent Value Systems in AIs / Emergent Values
Finally, I’d be remiss if this went out without a thank you and a shoutout to Dan Costa who had some nice things to say last week about this very experiment in his Substack, Machined. Dan’s super smart and a good guy through and through. Give him a follow.
